Inaction

Refusing to act at a crossing the lower corrections cannot reach is a record.

Where atrocity has run at scales the institution could see, and could have corrected at a cost substantially less, its refusal has been parasitic at the same resolution as the atrocity. Neutrality has often been the commitment to let contraction run because correction was more expensive.

This is not licence. Action that fails the criterion is parasitic at the action. Refusal that fails it is parasitic at the refusal. Both are read. And refusal to coordinate with others, where coordinated action would pass, is part of the refusal.

This is the short edition of Ø Applications — a summary. Where a step is compressed here, the original carries it in full. The original book (PDF) · This edition (PDF)
